Wagnon Wagnon Wagnon & Wagnon was founded in 2014 by two operators who had spent the previous decade building infrastructure software inside companies that grew from garage to public market. We started this firm because we wanted to invest the way we had always wished to be invested in — with patience, candor, and the assumption that the founder is the one who knows.
We manage capital on behalf of universities, foundations, and a small group of families. We invest from a single fund, take one position per founder, and reserve aggressively for the rounds that matter most.
Our office is in Menlo Park, but the work happens wherever the founders are. We've sat in conference rooms in Lagos, Tel Aviv, Stockholm, and Bentonville. The companies that compound do not all begin in the same zip code.
We would rather be early and alone than late and crowded. Our highest-returning investments have all been ones that felt uncomfortable to make at the time.
We do not run growth vehicles, opportunity funds, or sidecars. Every dollar we deploy comes from the same fund and is aligned with the same incentives.
We are a service business that sells capital. The founders we back are not our portfolio — they are the reason the firm exists.
We underwrite to outcomes that take a long time to mature. We stay through the rounds, the rebuilds, and the second acts.
We rarely tweet, never speak first to the press, and don't put our names on the door of someone else's company. The work speaks louder.
Recruiting, customer introductions, financing strategy, hard conversations. We are most helpful when asked, and we try to be worth asking.
